FOUR DECADES OF DETROIT TECHNO
VOL.1: PRE RELEASE EVENT AT ADE 2026
A landmark gathering of Detroit techno pioneers, contemporary innovators and international artists at Q-Factory, Amsterdam
On 23rd October, 2026 Metroplex Records and Elypsia Records will bring together an exceptional cross-generational lineup of Detroit techno pioneers, influential international artists and contemporary innovators for an extra special ADE 2026 event at Q-Factory.
To mark the forthcoming release Four Decades Of Detroit Techno Volume 1, this star-studded event brings together artists whose creativity has helped define, evolve and reinterpret the sound of Detroit techno across generations.
The lineup features Acida Dominga, Alinka, CEM3340 & 2030, Circadian Rhythm AKA DJ Deg, DIMITRI, DJ Pierre, ISIS, Kenny Larkin, Juan Atkins, Octave One, Pascal Hetzel, Scan 7 & Terrence Dixon for the night event, with local legends Dimitri and Isis also on the bill for the afternoon segment. This list of highly influential, visionary artists represents a powerful meeting point between Detroit's foundational techno legacy and the artists carrying that spirit forward today.
From the pioneering work of Metroplex and Juan Atkins to the enduring influence of artists including DJ Pierre, Kenny Larkin, Octave One and Terrence Dixon, and contemporary trailblazers such as Acida Dominga and Alinka, the event will celebrate the interconnectivity between the music's origins, its ongoing evolution and the international community that continues to honour the origins.
FOUR DECADES. ONE ENDURING SPIRIT.
Detroit techno goes beyond genre. It is a history, a philosophy and an ongoing conversation between generations of artists. Deeply rooted in the city’s musical history, it is preserved and protected by its ambassadors and treasured by a widespread global community.
The honour and trust connected to Motor City’s musical heritage is the fuel behind Elypsia Records's curation of Four Decades of Detroit Techno, an upcoming compilation spearheaded by the group. The comp will explore and showcase the lineage, and continuing influence, of The D through a carefully selected collection of artists and recordings. With over 30 years in the game, Elypsia Records is a key international torchbearer for Detroit techno.
The project is currently in development, with further details to be announced. This event serves as a live representation of the impact and influence of Detroit Techno, and a hint of what to expect from the extensive compilation.
For ADE, however, the focus is firmly on the dancefloor.
THE LINEUP
Acida Dominga (DE), Alinka (DE), CEM3340 & 2030 (IT), DIMITRI (NL), DJ Deg (BE), DJ Pierre (US), ISIS (NL), Kenny Larkin (US), Juan Atkins (US), Octave One (US), Pascal Hetzel (DE), Scan 7 (US) & Terrence Dixon (US).
There’s no techno with the original don - Magic Juan. With his stewardship and innovation, techno was established and proliferated around the world through his pioneering productions. He’s joined by fellow 313ers Kenny Larkin, the enigmatic Scan 7, Octave One and Terrence Dixon, who all carry the city’s heartbeat throughout their output. Belgian legend DJ Deg is one of a small group of early wave techno adopters from Europe. Berlin-based Pascal Hetzel blends techno and electro into his highly respected output.
DJ Pierre’s legacy needs little introduction - his 303-driven acid house has been a bedrock of electronic music for decades. Alinka, Acida Dominga and JakoJako hold it down for the new generation, with Italians CEM3340 and 2030 bringing their Italian techno flavour to proceedings. Local legends DIMITRI and ISIS complete the lineup, anchoring the event to its locality and providing a bridge between today’s techno affiliates, the Detroit natives and the city of Amsterdam itself.
Live performance forms an integral component of this historic event, with several artists on the bill presenting a live show, demonstrating just how potent and exhilarating techno can be.
Together, the lineup reflects the breadth of Detroit techno and its extended family: from foundational figures and established Detroit institutions to a younger generation of artists interpreting the sound through their own contemporary perspectives.
“For us, this is so much more than putting on an event. It’s about bringing together different generations of artists who carry the spirit of Detroit techno and honour its essence. The impact of the city is still being felt, four decades since it first came into creation. ADE is the perfect place to showcase and celebrate the city’s lineage.” Gregory Lacour, Elypsia Records
The event will take place at Q-Factory, one of Amsterdam's leading music venues and a major creative hub for musicians and artists. Located in Amsterdam-Oost, the multi-purpose venue will provide the ideal setting for this event - high-spec sound and acoustics that will complement and support the music and artistry perfectly.
Date: 23rd October, 2026 Time: 14:00 - 04:00 Venue: Q-Factory, Atlantisplein 1 1093 NE Amsterdam
