5 YEARS OF KING KONG RECORDS MIXED AND COMPILED BY SHARAM JEY & LOULOU PLAYERS - OUT NOW

KING KONG TOUR 2008 ---- MORE INFO SOON

Sharam Jey, DJ and producer, launched his own label King Kong Records 5 years ago. After years releasing stuff on different kinds of labels and remix works for international acts such as Moby, he had the feeling it was time to start his own label and so King Kong Records was born. The purpose was to release ground-breaking electronic dance music. The original intention to just release his own material, from Djs for Djs, was soon amended by the idea of giving new talented artists a platform for their work and so King Kong started signing new acts.
Today talents such as the LouLou Players, Nick K, Roman Salzger and Robert M are part of the King Kong Crew.

AFTERDARK VOL.2 MIXED BY CHUS & CEBALLOS AND SHARAM JEY

Chus & Ceballos have made a name for themselves with their unique Balearic tribal sound released on their label Stereo and their killer remixes, which include Madonna’s ‘Hung Up’.  Key tracks on their offering include Victor Calderone ‘Give It Up’, Danny Tenaglia ‘Dibiza’, Robbie Rivera ‘Escape’ and DJ Chus ‘Black Rain’.

Sharam Jey has been spreading his dirty, electro-house through his very powerful DJ sets and his label King Kong Records.  Key tracks on his offering include Sharam Jey ‘When Dogs Bite’, Martin Buttrich ‘Full Clip’, Stefan Golmann ‘Sleepy Hollow’ and Latex (AKA Locodice) ‘The Porcupine’.

Sharam explains how he came up with his Afterdark offering, “My DJ sets usually take from 3 up to 5 hours and go from deep house and minimal to electro rocking tunes. With Afterdark I wanted to re-build that feeling in a 1 hour mix. So I've chosen my favourite tracks to make the people get a good start before they go clubbing”

Both discs have a large variety of massive house cuts, some upfront, some dancefloor favourites and most of all ‘Afterdark’. Prepare for dance floor mayhem, brought to you in a duel from Spain vs. Germany, ending in equal high scores!

BIOGRAPHY:

DJ, producer, label maker - Sharam Jey from Cologne, Germany, is a real allrounder. As a true lover of music and artist he uses any chance he gets to bring his music closer to clubbers all around the world.

Sharam Jey’s roots may be in soul music but he gained stage experience as a singer for a rockband. At the same time his Dj'ing skills became hugely popular on the party scene and among his friends. His Dj'ing started out as a part-time gig but soon turned into a passion when Sharam discovered his love for house&techno in the early 90s and from then on he played nothing but dance music.

Today, 10 years later, his name has become an international synonym for pumping Electrohouse music that just can't be categorized. Uplifting Funky sounds? Grooving minimal tracks? Breax? Narrow, departmental thinking is definitely not Sharam’s thing. He is only interested in the quality of the tracks and if they can rock the dance floor. Especially in the UK, Sharam is an immensely popular DJ. But not only that! His calendar is fully booked with regular gigs all over the world.

As a DJ he soon learned which tracks are guaranteed to really set the dance floor on fire. This knowledge resulted in the first remixes and other own productions in the mid-90's which were very well received by both clubbers and critics.
After his remix of Cafè Del Mar`s “Energy 52” was voted “Best Dance Track Of All Time” (Mixmag), Sharam went on to remix the likes of Moby, Mylo, Faith No More, Faithless, Salt N Peppa, Warren G. and loads more. This is in addition to over 50 own releases on labels like Underwater Records Hooj Choons, Airtight, Four Twenty, Ink records, ........

Releases on well-known labels like these are an honour in themselves but Sharam didn't stop there. In early 2001 he decided to create his own platform for his music - King Kong Records. His motto is: No compromises! With his own label, Sharam Jey can finally realize all his ideas and dreams - from sound to art work right thru to packaging. The label is now well established and successful.

After all those releases in years, finally his debut artist album “4 Da Loverz” was released worldwide on Underwater Records in 2005. It raised amazing critics and even got him on the cover of famous DJ Mag. That same year a successful compilation “Episode 04” with Darren Emerson, head of Underwater Records, was published.

End of 2006 two strong compilation releases were issued and confirmed Sharam Jey as a hot and demanded dj and artist. First up was the release of the second part of the Afterdark series by Stealth Records. And secondly a compilation was issued to accompany his Australia tour called Kink Vol. 2 out on EMI Australia/Ministry Of Sound.
