BIOGRAPHY
At the age of just 25, Matteo is globally recognized as one of the fastest rising talents in the House music scene.
He has started DJing in his native Italy back in 1997, and has toured extensively from Rome to London, Ibiza, Moscow and New York,
bringing his energetic DJ performances at some of the world most famous venues such as: Nikki Beach, El Divino, Miss Moneypenny’s, Dusted and many more.
Simultaneously, Matteo (together with his studio partner Sant) has established himself as a highly regarded producer,
and he is now becoming renowned for his unique brand of electronic – funky House music.
Over the past 5 years he has worked with dance music luminaries such as: StoneBridge, Barbara Tucker, Sabrynaah Pope and Taka Boom,
releasing innovative productions (under various guises including Solsonik) for some of the best record labels such as: Universal, Warner and EMI Virgin,
as well as remixing for House music classics such as: “Make The World Go Round” by Sandy B and “Clap Your Hands” by DJ Pierre & Marshall Jefferson.
2004 was a landmark year for Matteo:
his debut single “You & Me (In Miami)” (featuring Chance – Zucchero’s backing vocalist)
received a plenty of DJ support from the likes of David Morales and Tony Humphries,
instantanely becoming one of the most sough after records at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
“You & Me (In Miami)” was at the centre of a major labels bidding war,
and then picked up by Universal Music in Italy and the legendary Manifesto Records in the U.K. and released worldwide,
ending up into the Ministry Of Sound “Anthems Of House” album - a collection of the most rated House tracks.
The follow up single “My Revolution” (featuring Steve Edwards - of Cassius “The Sound Of Violence” fame),
released in 2005 through Universal Music in Italy and Cr2 Records worldwide,
catapulted his name into the record boxes of DJ’s across the globe
from Michael Gray to Bob Sinclar - who together with Steve Edwards has released the hit record: “World, Hold On”, Mousse T., Junior Jack and Claudio Coccoluto,
ending up into the Top 40 Dance Singles Chart in the U.K.
However it was his “Funk” single (featuring Corrina Joseph – former Basement Jaxx’s vocalist) that made both the most influential DJ’s
- Junior Vasquez wanted the track in his latest album, Pete Tong charted it in his Buzz Chart, Roger Sanchez charted it number 1 in his Top 10
and Dave Seaman, David Guetta, Sander Kleinenberg and Benny Benassi all supported it,
and the major industry publications alike
- reaching the top spot in the DJ Magazine Hype Chart and being quoted ‘Essential House Tune’ in DMC / Update,
sit up and take notice.
“Funk” is now licensed to the brand new Pacha Ibiza imprint: Pacha Recordings for worldwide release soon.
Other recent works have included his pivotal remixes for:
Armand Van Helden “Into Your Eyes” - originally released through Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records - ending up at number 9 in the Top 10 Singles Chart in the U.K.,
and then licensed to Ultra Records in the U.S., P.I.A.S. in Europe and Shock in Australia for worldwide release,
Jupiter Ace “Until The Music Stop” released through Big Love Music,
and Robbie Rivera featuring Jesus Jones “Right Here” released through Nebula / EMI Virgin
- all charted in the Pete Tong Buzz Chart,
and also his update of the Martha Wash classic “I Stand Alone” released through Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Music - became a firmly favourite in the record box of Deep Dish.
Matteo has just completed “The Bass Gets Move” track (under the Out Of The Box guise)
- that has been already championed in the Judge Jules Tracklistings on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K.,
and also a remix for the new Simple Minds single “Different World” coming soon on their own Sanctuary Records.
With an upcoming single (featuring Katherine Ellis - of Raven Maize “Fascinated” fame),
and an album compilation released early next year on V2 Music,
- featuring exclusive tracks by artists from around the world such as: Deepgroove, Flash Brothers, Starchaser, Tom Mangan and Trophy Twins & Funkagenda,
as well as a new U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia tour in the pipeline,
future looks bright for Matteo.
On top of all, Matteo runs Cosmonote Blue – one of the most respected Italian House labels today,
and he has just signed new projects such as:
Col Hamilton “Catch It, Kill It, Scran It” - that has already received a plenty of DJ support from the likes of: Felix Da Housecat and Seb Fontaine
and has been already championed in the Pete Tong Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K.
Disciples Of Sound “Perfect Motion” - that has been already requested by Armin Van Buuren and DJ Tiesto,
Electrico “Love In New Wave” - pop / rock band from Singapore that has been already championed in the Pete Tong Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K.,
Filthy Rich “Distortion” - that has been already championed in the Fergie Tracklistings on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K.
