BIOGRAPHY
At present, Gadjo is one of the most popular artists in the world and with his hit single “So Many Times” of 2004 he spread the clear message that “people of any background, are all like brothers on the dance floor”. This message did not only pass through Europe, the USA and Canada, but also reached people in the smallest corners of this earth. His hit single landed right in the dance charts and won the award “Best Track of the Year” at the International Dance Music Awards 2006.
It all began unexpectedly, like it so often does at an early age. Back then the young Gadjo, alias Murat A., was led to his love of music by a lucky coincidence. His mother worked in a music store and gave him the chance to expand his creativity. “Children like to use their environment as a playground for better development” – and this is exactly what he did. Gadjo utilised the classical instruments in the store to establish his very own world of creative ideas. The former proprietor of the music store quickly recognised the young boy’s potential and offered him private music lessons.
Numerous and painstaking hours of sweat driven lessons passed, but learning to play the various instruments, such as the flute and the piano, helped Gadjo develop a strong sense of music, which would later pay him back. With increasing age, he grew fond of mixing and playing records, initially being Hip Hop and Funk & Soul at the age of 17.

9 years later his musical path led him to the electronic dance music that was soon to be his great passion. Many more successful years passed in the popular clubs within and around Hamburg. Once again a milestone was planted in his life, when he released his first own production “Besame Mucho”, which turned into a big club hit. Two years later the track followed that would change his life profoundly until today. As well as in the first hit Alexandra Prince lent him her voice for “So Many Times”.
First meant for the B side of a record, the track was quickly released on it’s own, falling into a long beauty sleep until 2004, when it was kissed awake on Ibiza by one of the most renowned DJs of the world. Eric Morillo rocked the clubs throughout the season worldwide. Soon his DJ colleagues and big names of the dance scene such as Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, Milk & Sugar, Seb Fontaine, Pete Tong, Antoine Clamaran and Steve Angelo, became aware of the true worth of the sleeping beauty “So Many Times” and voted it no. 1 in their charts. But latest after Eric Morillo relincesed the track on the legendary label “Subliminal Records” the breakthrough of the hit was unstoppable and it came, as it had to come…

No. 1 in the charts of France, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, Hungary, Australia, Scandinavia, the U.K. and Spain. In the U.S.A. Gadjo stormed the U.S. top ten of the Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Charts and the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Charts in March 2005. The maxi CD turned out to be the most played dance track on British radio shows and the top 20ies of the official single charts were quickly conquered. The peak was reached with the title “Best House Track 2006” at the Dance Music Awards.Various remix requests for Gadjo followed rapidly, e.g. one for David Morales – “Better That You Leave”. It was also released on the A1 of the vinyl. The legendary Basement Jaxx had one remix created by Gadjo for their hit “Do Your Thing”, which helped conquer the throne of the English Cool Cuts Charts and kick it’s predecessor off no 1.
Wherever Gadjo appeared, he left his tracks worldwide. Unforgettable memories, an excessively music hungry dance crowd and it seemed to be a never-ending story. He enchanted people all around the world on occasions such as the “BBC 1 Essential Mix Party”, the Winter Music Conference in Miami, the Closing Party in “Space” on Ibiza, or even at the “Subliminal Session” at the Ministry of Sound in London. Finally, it is necessary to say that Gadjo was, is and will still in 2007 be a synonym for electronic music. So we can look forward to the continuation of the never-ending story with a guarantee for long musical nights
