BIOGRAPHY

Chip E. is a true pioneer of House Music. Chip started writing and recording dance music in 1984. Many credit Chip with introducing the world to the term and meaning of the word "Jack." Chip's classic House song, "Time 2 Jack" was the first song to ever use the word "Jack," and  in a 1985 interview with Spin magazine, Chip explained that "Jacking is doing standing up on the dance-floor, what you'd rather be doing at home laying down."

Other classic Chip E. recordings include "Like This," "It's House," "If You Only Knew", and "Godfather of House." Chip's music was always known for it's rawness, and as he gained popularity, Chip was among the first House artists and DJs to travel around the world introducing and evangelizing House Music everywhere they went. Chip E. is not only a music producer and DJ but a multimedia guru and a respected member of the local and international film and video world. His first feature length film, "The Unusual Suspects" a documentary about the origins of House Music is currently in the international film festival circuit, and will be released late this summer.  Besides breaking ground with his early House songs, Chip has worked on videos and DVDs with such artists as James Brown, The Dead, Michael McDonald, The Roots, The 2 Live Crew, and too many others to list. After twenty years on the scene, Chip continues to use creativity and technology to remain a true innovator.
