Of Sound, Ago Carollo became a household name in the international electronic dance music scene, travelling worldwide for performances as DJ in many of the best clubs of the planet. In 2013 he received the Nomination at the Latin Grammy Awards as producer, songwriter and featured artist of the album of the year, Papitwo by Miguel Bosé, for his song Wrong In The Right Way.
After his remix of Elvis Presley’s Baby Let’s Play House (Spankox Remix), released by Sony Music, brought the King back at the top of the international record sales charts, he became the first artist in history to produce a whole official Elvis Presley remix album, Re:Versions (Sony Music, 2008). This was the first of a series of Elvis remix albums released internationally: Re:Mixes (2009), Christmas Remixes (2009), Re:Volution (2010), Re:Loaded (2011), Re:Generation (2012), Re:Born (2013) and Relive (2014).
Several of Ago Carollo’s records reached the top of the international charts and achieved Platinum and Gold status. Among these his album X-Treme as X-Treme (1998 – Double Platinum in Japan), Love Song as X-Treme (1999 – Gold in Italy, Austria and Belgium and Gold also in the cover version released by Right Said Fred in 2002), Fly Away as Eyes Cream (#1 Billboard Club Play hit in the USA in 2000 and Top 40 in many territories), Open Up Your Mind as Eyes Cream (Billboard USA Top 10 in 2003), Put On Your Red Shoes as Ago (2002 – Top 20 in Germany, Austria and Scandinavia), Tell Me Where You Are as Ago (Top 40 USA, Canada and Italy in 2003), So True as Ago (2011 – Top 10 Billboard USA Radio Airplay Chart), To The Club as Spankox (2004 – Top 40 UK and France and Top 5 international club track of 2004). His song Michael Jackson Is Not Dead as Spankox (2011) reached n. 3 in the UK Dance Chart, n. 14 in the DMC World House Chart and, included in the compilation Clubland 19, n.1 of the Official UK Album Chart. Makaroni as Spankox stormed the Italian and German dance charts in 2012-13. Many of Ago Carollo’s greatest hits have been collected in his album titled The Album (2014).
Ago Carollo has remixed artists such as Roxette, Vasco Rossi (Italy’s n.1 rockstar), Snap! and many more. He is is also the creator of the soundtrack and the producer of the electronic dance music cult movie Miami II Ibiza (2012), a must-see for every electronic dance music fan. In 2015 he produced the world’s first The Beatles remix album, titled Reloved.
Ago Carollo is also the producer and organizer of several events and of two of Italy’s best electronic music festivals: Vivalago and EX where artists such as Depeche Mode’s Andy Fletcher, Sister Bliss of Faithless, Boy George of Culture Club and Skin of Skunk Anansie, among many others, appeared.
