BIOGRAPHY
The launch of the Pioneer DVJ-X1 has brought the future of DJing and audio-visual entertainment here today. The DVJ-X1 allows synchronised digital audio and video to be manipulated and played back like never before, paving the way for a new breed of performer - the DVJ. At the forefront of this new clubbing revolution is Addictive TV's AV-literate DJs, who blend exciting and dynamic visuals into their live performances for the ultimate clubbing experience, mixing a DJ's treatment of audio with the visual skills of a VJ, creating a completely original entertainment experience.
Combining Pioneer's world-famous CD Jog Dial technology with the flexibility and capacity of DVD, Addictive TV DVJs are able to use the DVJ-X1 to manipulate DVD audio and visuals in exactly the same way as they would music, with digital video scratches, loops and instant cue while the video and audio streams always stay in perfect sync, crossing the boundaries between the once-separate audio and video domains.
Addictive TV use DVJ-X1s together with laptops and vinyl, allowing digital sound and vision from separate sources to be mixed and scratched on the fly - in the same way as DJs create audio mixes in their live sets today.
Imagine it: Seeing and hearing Audrey Hepburn, Moby, Michael Caine, Mick Jagger, Beyonce, Franz Ferdinand, Robocop, Bob Dylan and The Prodigy - in sound & vision all appearing in the mix at the party!!! Now you’re starting to get the idea J
Performing internationally, criss-crossing the art and club worlds, Addictive TV have played at venues from the Pompidou Centre in Paris to Tokyo superclub Ageha, and from the Amsterdam Dance Event to the UK's Glastonbury Festival. Recent AV performances include the Roskilde festival 2005 and Sven Vath’s amazing Cocoon Club in Frankfurt, using 25 projectors! And as VJs, the guys have mixed live visual sets for artists including Howie B, Andrew Weatherall, Goldie and Fatboy Slim.
Please note Addicitive TV should now be booked and programmed as DJS not VJs - its an audiovisual thing.
